The microprocessor motherboard is being sold for only 5 dollars.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a company that takes great pride in its endeavor to help people interested in robotics and computer get a head start. Raspberry has declared itself a non-profit type organization keen on delivering cheap computer components all around the world. As part of their initiative, Raspberry Pi launches cheapest computer on the market.
The computer set has been sold at a retail price of 5 dollar or 4 pounds. Pi Zero is the newest product being advertised by the Raspberry. Although it’s not your typical run-of-the-mill gaming rig, the little type has quite a lot of perks considering its low price.
First of all, we should be aware that Raspberry’s concept is not aimed to please computer game fans, far from it. As the developers would put it, the new design in computer technology mainly addressees those who look towards robotics and software development. The set can be easily used in order to debug programs and create powerful source codes.
Although the microprocessor board features low power features, its specifications are quite astonishing, giving its size and power. The Pi Zero is equipped with ARM11 processor, capable of delivering a frequency of 1 GHz. But it doesn’t end here. The developers stated that the processor could run at even higher frequency if it is upcloaked. This is a bit leap for Raspberry, considering the fact that the new pocket sized programming computer is 40 percent faster than its predecessor, which is Pi 1.
More on the mini-computer’s specs: the motherboards comes also with 512 MB of SDRAM, running of the LPDDR 2 technology. In terms of connectivity, unfortunately, the board doesn’t feature an Ethernet internet adapter or a WI-FI adapter. But users can work around that by adding an external WI-FI adapter. The motherboard also has 4 mini-HDMI sockets, capable of delivering video outputs up to 1080p60.
The developers also added a micro-SD card reader and two additional micro-USBs. The rig even has a 40-pin GPIO header.
In terms of size, the computer can literally fit in the palm of your hand. Raspberry Pi announced that Pi Zero has 65x30x5 millimeters in size. Known for their take on the low-cost computer market, Raspberry Pi has even launched a full desktop setup that’s evaluated at 20 dollars per set.
So, whether you are new to computer programming or you’re just looking for a cheap set, it would seem that Raspberry Pi is the solution to all our low-budget computer needs.
